The DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS is one of the oldest department's in BIT. It has a staff of EIGHT members with three Assistant Professor, three senior grade lecturers and two lecturer. The DEPARTMENT is headed by Prof. M. Chowdegowda, who is the senior most Professor.

Dr. Surmadevi who is also an Professor in the department has a teaching experience of more than 22 years. Mr. Prashanth Kumar who has a teaching experience of more than 15 years stood first in the UNIVERSITY in his M.Sc examination, and has been awarded a GOLD MEDAL by the UNIVERSITY. Among the four teachers two are currently working on their PhD degree.

Dr. ROHINI has been a co-author of books on ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS concerned to the engineering students from I to IV th SEMESTER B.E. COURSES OF V.T.U (Deputed to M.C.A Department).

The DEPARTMENT has been constantly from the beginning getting good results.
